The most beautiful attractions
Cozy towns and interesting harbor villages
Cagliari - the capital of Sardinia is located quite far in the south of the island. The Castello district of the metropolis is a celebrity mainly because of the medieval wall and because it rises from the rest of the city. The city highlights also include the Cagliari Cathedral and the Museo Archeologico.
Olbia - Between winding alleys with typical trattorias and chic shopping streets, the city in the northeast of Sardinia invites you for a leisurely day trip. But Olbia is not only convincing as a city. The beaches Spiaggia Pittulongu and Porto Istana are practically on the doorstep.
Porto Cervo - the small town lies relatively far in the north of the island and resembles a tiny Monaco. Marvel at the ostentatious yachts and flashy sports cars in high season.
Porto Rotondo - Located a bit further south, this port town represents that wonderfully laid-back Italian flair. Stroll through the narrow streets and discover fine pizzerias of the Italian model city.
Beautiful bays, paradisiacal beaches
The coasts in Sardinia are littered with breathtaking sandy beaches. In the low season, there are even small hidden bays where you can enjoy swimming and relaxing just the two of you. The most popular stretches of coastline are Costa Smeralda, Costa Paradiso and Costa Verde. All three are very crowded in the high season, but really beautiful.
Spiaggia sa pedra ruia - A beach with sand dunes and small pine forests. Due to the length of the beach, the bathers spread out, which is why it never gets too crowded here.
Spiaggia di su Sirboni - This beach is a real insider tip for every tourist. The secluded bay can be reached only by a short walk over rocks and through woods. Usually the beach is deserted because of the rather arduous footpath. So if you are good on foot, you will enjoy the idyllic oasis. If you are staying for a longer time, you should definitely take something to eat and drink with you.
Places of interest and excursions
Gapo Testa - The peninsula in the north of Sardinia is considered a popular photo spot. Our tip: Visit the bay in the evening, when the rocks are in contact with the sunset red. Gapo Testa represents the typical nature of the island of Sardinia and shows it off in wonderful splendor.
The Gulf of Orosei - The bay is lined with romantic rocky beaches. However, most of these beaches are accessible only by hiking trails. So allow half an hour for the walk. Your effort will be rewarded. Here the beaches are even more pristine and idyllic than many other places on the island.
Bonifacio - This city is located in the very south of the French island of Corsica. Bonifacio is considered a popular day trip for guests to Sardinia. Although the two islands are barely 12 km apart, they are very different. The architecture of the buildings, the cuisine and the overall ambiance becomes much more French in Corsica.

Climate and nature
The best time for vacations in Sardinia is between May and October. Basically, there is a Mediterranean climate with hot summer months and a mild, humid winter. The combination of the white sandy beaches, green forests and the azure sea water leads to a paradisiacal atmosphere.
How to get there
The most comfortable way to travel to Sardinia is by plane to Olbia or Cagliari. Alternatively, you can get to Genoa, Livorno or Civitavecchia either by train or by car, from where you can take a ferry to the island.
The Sardinian cuisine
The enjoyment of traditional dishes is not to be missed during your vacations in Sardinia. The local cuisine is one of the best in the world. Why not try to recreate a recipe in the kitchen of your vacation home - for example Pani Frattau. The wafer-thin flatbread is refined with tomato sauce and egg. Also quickly prepared: Fregola (a type of pasta from Sardinia that looks like little balls) and vegetables. If you drink alcohol, it's important to try the local wine. The regional Cannonau, a fiery, meaty spicy red wine with a wonderful fruity sweetness, goes excellently with summer barbecues.
